Maple Leaf Banjo

The Maple Leaf Banjo is our workhorse banjo. All wooden parts and most of the hardware is made in our shop. Each instrument is hand assembled and setup by Hugh Hunter. Hugh and I work very closely on the selection of woods and hardware that goes into each instrument.

This model is available in Open-back and Resonator equipped models. The action setup for each type of instrument is determined by the purchaser. Other than the resonator and type of head both models of Maple Leaf Banjo are crafted using the following configuration:

- 11" hard northern Canadian maple block rim. This rim actually rings when tapped.

- Rickard style Tubaphone or Whyte Laydie tone ring. Do a Google search on "Rickard Tubaphone" to find out more.

- Rickard bracket flange. No more sharp bracket shoes digging into your lap.

- Rickard laser cut floral design tailpiece.

- 5 piece laminated neck with a custom built, dual action truss rod (adjusing screw is hidden in the heel).

- Bird's eye maple peghead veneer.

- Bloodwood maple leaf peghead inlay.

- Figured maple neck binding.

- Bird's eye maple neck position markers.

- Gotoh tuning pegs and 5th peg - smooth as silk.

- Scallopped bone nut.
