Spun-over Rim

It's extremely hard to find somebody who can spin metal these days but I have been lucky to find a man who able to do it and do it well. This is a close-up shot of an unplated spun-over rim (this part is positioned over top of the Tubaphone and Whyte Laydie tone ring assemblies) to show that the vertical surface is exactly 90º off the horizontal. It is also very straight. Both of these features are very tough to accomplish, especially when you know that this part started out as a flat brass sheet! Interesting, eh?
