Good Alignment of Spun-over Rim to Rim

Just another shot showing how the spun-over rim should fit the rim. Just a little technical note - when the wooden rim is machined to fit the tone ring and the spun-over rim we leave a small clearance gap of about 0.015" between the bottom of the spun-over rim and the ledge (near the 2 ¼" ruler mark) on the wood rim. This is to ensure that head tension is transferred entirely to the tone ring and not down the sides of the spun-over rim.
